Where in the World are Dave and Elizabeth?

This is why everyone loves the Maldives: sunshine, white sands, water that is perfect for sports.   What a beautiful day we had yesterday in God’s creation! Six of us from the Zuiderdam booked a boat tour.  The others on the excursion were a young Italian family of four and a couple from the Philippines who live and work in the United Arab Emirates.  Our guides took us about forty-five minutes away to a sandbar.  They docked as close as the surrounding shallow waters allowed, and we waded the rest of the way there.  After that, we headed to Himmafushi Island, which is inhabited by about 1,000 people.  Can you see the stingray? We snorkeled with stingrays later, but we just took this picture off the dock at Himmafushi.  We walked around, visited a couple of shops, and ate a tasty lunch at the Indian Cafe. Singapore, part 2 of 3 Late in the afternoon, we regrouped and headed out again.  Our first stop was Singapore’s famous Garden by the Bay.  We toured one of the giant, domed greenhouses.  When nighttime came, we walked over to the manmade “tree towers” to watch the light show.  It was synchronized with selections from an opera that were broadcast simultaneously.  After the show was over, we went to the top of the main “tree” observatory to view Singapore’s nighttime skyline.  The lights were gorgeous, but I hugged the center while the others all ran to the edges to get even better looks..   Our friends told us that no visit to Singapore is complete without chili crab or a visit to Newton Food Centre. So off we went! After walking in circles, we finally found a cab and got to the hawker center around 10:PM.  Dave and I were so thirsty, we must have chugged a gallon between us of freshly squeezed limeade.  We all feasted on the crab as well as ...

 It came to Neptune's attention that there were many members of the crew on the Zuiderdam who were pollywogs, and he and his wife, the Mermaid Queen came to check it out.  Four groups of about 4 or 5 such scruvy folks were rounded up and brought to trial. Four of the ship’s musicians stood trial first, and they were sentenced to kiss the fish and be slimed.  Then a court voted whether they had to go in the drink or if they got a pass. No pardon. The pink, green, and blue slimed musicians had to jump in.  Kissing the fish. While this group and another were sentenced to a dunking,   two groups were given a pass.
