Where are we today? Catching up on Malé, sailing to the Seychelles
This is why everyone loves the Maldives: sunshine, white sands, water that is perfect for sports. What a beautiful day we had yesterday in God’s creation! Six of us from the Zuiderdam booked a boat tour. The others on the excursion were a young Italian family of four and a couple from the Philippines who live and work in the United Arab Emirates. Our guides took us about forty-five minutes away to a sandbar. They docked as close as the surrounding shallow waters allowed, and we waded the rest of the way there. After that, we headed to Himmafushi Island, which is inhabited by about 1,000 people. Can you see the stingray? We snorkeled with stingrays later, but we just took this picture off the dock at Himmafushi. We walked around, visited a couple of shops, and ate a tasty lunch at the Indian Cafe.
